JEWISH MOTORCYCLISTS ALLIANCE

INTERNATIONAL JEWISH MOTORCYCLE CLUB SUPPORTS HOLOCAUST EDUCATION

Would you believe that there is a worldwide organization called the Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance that has over 2,400 members in 40 different Jewish motorcycle clubs around the world, including in the United States, Canada, Israel, England and Australia?  The Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance is composed of motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages and contrary to what some might assume about motorcyclists, these riders have much to teach us about philanthropy and actively repairing the world (Tikkun Olam in Hebrew).

Since 2006, these dedicated riders have gathered from across the country and beyond in an annual event called Ride2Remember. The main focus of this 3-day event? To  join forces in support of one Holocaust Education charity for their annual fundraising event.

The Butterfly Project is thrilled to be the chosen beneficiary of the 2022 Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance Ride2Remember fundraising!

We are so honored that JMA has chosen to support our small but mighty organization.

Listen to TBP Executive Director Cheryl Rattner Price’s message thanking the JMA organization for believing in our mission and welcoming JMA riders to San Diego.

The 2022 Ride2Remember is taking place here in San Diego in support of The Butterfly Project’s Holocaust Education programming. In early September, riders from several states, Canada and Israel will come together to explore our beautiful city. The Butterfly Project is planning several local events to bring together our guests, leaders from our Jewish community, and many from our beloved local Holocaust survivor community.

Several years of delays due to Covid have not dampened the riders’ resolve to support The Butterfly Project’s Holocaust Education work.  In fact, they are even more motivated to take a stand in the face of the rising antisemitism in our country and schools. TBP staff would like to thank the JMA planning committee, led by Lauren Secular of New York City’s Chai Riders, Steve Marion Walker, the President of our local San Diego club, Shalom and Chrome, JMA’s President Bob Cohen, Treasurer Bruce Ente, and the countless others who worked so hard on this event.

With this ride, we honor Sid Rochwerg z”l of blessed memory, who envisioned from his hometown of Toronto, Canada (Golf Riders Club) in 2017 for the R2R to benefit The Butterfly Project in San Diego. He worked tirelessly for 2 years nominating and advocating for The Butterfly Project to be the recipient charity of this annual fundraiser.
